Armless Wonder

     Do you know how,

The armless wonder lost her arms?

With harm.

Do you know why,

The iron tongue cannot bleed?

With greed.

Do you know when,

The lobster boy found his claws?

 With flaws.

 Do you know where,

The glass-eaters digest their shards?

With scars.

And do you know what,

The fire dancers breathe at night?

Oh, such fright.

Still, crowds scream until it all stops,

Eyes circled wider than their sacred Big Top.

But they’ll never cheer a greater thunder,

For the missing limbs of the armless wonder.
